NWOEA members from across northwest Ohio districts attended the NWOEA Fall Symposium on October 13 at Whitmer High School to learn more about violence in the classroom and what their rights are as educators. Guidelines on restraint and seclusion were discussed along with guidelines for contracts regarding self defense, intervention and assault leave. The symposium was presented by Daria Denoia, OEA Staff and Tim Davis, Labor Relations Consultant for the Maumee A Leadership Council. The NWOEA Professional Development Committee hosted the event.
