To apply for this NWOEA scholarship, please complete the google form application or download the PDF form and SUBMIT no later than than December 16, 2024. Scholarship recipients will be notified via email by end-of-business on January 6, 2024.
The 2024 OEA Advocacy and Organizing Institute (formally the OEA Collective Bargaining Conference) will be held on February 22-24, 2024 Hyatt Regency Columbus 350 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43215
Scholarship Information:
The Northwestern Ohio Education Association will be offering scholarships to locals
from the Northwestern Ohio District. Each local may be awarded up to four $100
scholarships (maximum per local $400) until the allotted $4,000.00 funding is depleted.
The scholarship will cover the registration fee and hotel room (double occupancy).
Dinner on Thursday night, breakfast on Friday and Saturday, and lunch on Friday and
Saturday are included in the registration fee. Dinner on Friday night is the responsibility
of the individual or local association.
Scholarship Guidelines:
● Preference will be given to locals bargaining during 2024.
● The deadline to submit the NWOEA scholarship application is
December 16, 2024.
● Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis with
preference given to those locals who are bargaining in 2023 until the
allotted $4,000 is depleted.
● The scholarships will cover the registration cost for the conference which
includes an overnight room (based on double occupancy) for Thursday
and Friday and meals provided at the conference.
● The recipients will be responsible for all other expenses incurred.
● The OEA Regional offices are also awarding scholarships for the
conference. If you apply for a Regional Scholarship, your local will not be
eligible for a NWOEA Scholarship. No duplicate scholarships will be
awarded.
● You will be notified via email by January 6, 2024, if your local is selected
for a scholarship. It is important that each team member provide a valid
home email address.
● Once you have been awarded a NWOEA Scholarship, it is the
responsibility of each scholarship recipient to register online for the
conference in accordance with the information provided in the notification
email.
● Registration must be completed by Friday, January 6, 2023.

2024 OEA Advocacy and Organizing Institute. This year’s event will take place February 2024, at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus and will feature more than 10 new sessions, in addition to our traditional offerings for participants. We are also excited to announce that we will be hosting a social on Friday night, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., so participants can get together and discuss the learnings of the day.
