NWOEA RA

The NWOEA Representative Assembly (RA) will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019.  The NWOEA RA is scheduled to begin at 5:45 PM and will be held at Bowling Green High School, 530 West Poe Road, Bowling Green. Delegates to the NWOEA RA are to be elected annually in accordance with practices determined by the local’s Constitution and By-laws.  Local associations are entitled to one NWOEA delegate for each 40 members or major fraction thereof, based on NWOEA membership of 2018-19 (to help you compute this figure, review Table A).

Again this year NWOEA will hold a short orientation preceding the RA for first-time delegates.  Local presidents need to check all first-time attendees on their delegate certification form so that first-time attendees can receive notification of the orientation.  The orientation is also open to veteran delegates, if they wish to attend.

At the 72nd NWOEA Representative Assembly many important decisions will be made that have a direct impact on our locals.  It is vital to have everyone’s input.  To insure maximum representation, locals are encouraged to elect NWOEA delegates and to send their OEA delegates to the NWOEA RA.  NWOEA delegates are IN ADDITION to the local’s OEA delegates, because OEA delegates are already automatic delegates to the NWOEA RA with voting rights.  Be advised that OEA alternates have voting rights at the NWOEA RA, only if they are replacing an absent OEA delegate or if they have also been elected by your local as NWOEA delegates.

NWOEA delegates must be elected by February 1, 2019.  Send the NWOEA Certification Form to the NWOEA Center postmarked (OR EMAILED AND RECEIVED IN THE OFFICE) no later than February 10, 2019. Assembly materials will be sent to all NWOEA delegates and alternates, as well as OEA delegates and alternates, in advance of the RA.

A light meal will be provided at the RA beginning at 5:00 PM.  Registration will begin at 5:15 PM.  The OEA Delegate Briefing will be held during the NWOEA RA so that all of attendees will hear this important state level information.

If you have any questions, please email the NWOEA Center at nwoea.center@gmail.com
