OEA Representative Assembly
Delegates will be making many critical decisions that will have a major impact on the Ohio Education Association. This letter contains information regarding the upcoming OEA Fall RA. The OEA RA will be held at a newly built facility, Cardinal Hall, at the Ohio State Fairgrounds, 717 East 17th Avenue in Columbus on Saturday, December 3, 2016.
The “OEA Fall 2016 Representative Assembly Logistical Highlights” will give you more information regarding the actual RA. Please note that OEA will be implementing a new card system for delegates to speak on New Business Items during the Representative Assembly. Members of the Convention Planning Committee will be available on the floor of the RA to assist delegates with the process.
Upon arrival at the OEA RA, stop by the NWOEA table in the lobby of Cardinal Hall to sign in and pick up an NWOEA gift. While at the table we encourage you to purchase tickets for the “Christmas Shopping Spree” from the NWOEA Fund Raising Committee. The lucky winner will be announced on Saturday after the brief lunch break when delegates will have an opportunity to purchase a light snack/lunch from the concessions.
During the RA the Northwest Delegates are encouraged to sit in the center section directly in front of the stage (see the seating chart). Please join your fellow delegates in this area.
Since NWOEA will not be holding an OEA Delegate Briefing this year, the Board of Directors voted at its November 1st meeting to endorse Tamika Moss for the position of OEA Board of Director At-Large position. Tamika’s responses to the NWOEA candidate questionnaire are enclosed for your perusal.
Again this year the District Leaders will have a hospitality night on Friday, December 2. This will be held at the Doubletree Hotel Columbus/Worthington, 175 Hutchinson Avenue, from 8:30-11:00 p.m. You are invited to attend this event and to network with other members from around the state.
