2018 OEA Summer Academy
NWOEA is announcing the availability of scholarships to the 2018 OEA Summer Academy to be held in Columbus, June 18-20. The content and format of this year’s Academy is different from previous years. This year members MUST attend as part of a local association team. A local association team must consist of at least three (3) members, and the NWOEA scholarships fund the cost of up to five (5) team members. An individual local assumes responsibility for the funding of any team members in excess of five.
Two team scholarships will be awarded based on the following current membership number of the locals: two teams from locals with up to 50 members, two teams from locals with 51 to 86 members, and two teams from locals with over 86 members. The scholarships will cover the $100.00 registration fee, meals provided at the conference, and TWO nights lodging for single or double occupancy (double occupancy is encouraged) at the Columbus Hilton Downtown, 401 N. High Street, Columbus. Scholarship application must be made through the NWOEA Office. Applicants should apply to only one entity for a scholarship (i.e., NWOEA or Region 3/Region 4 but not to both).
A copy of the NWOEA scholarship application is enclosed. In order to receive a scholarship through NWOEA, the completed application form needs to be sent to the NWOEA Center, 101 W. Sandusky, Suite 302, Findlay, Ohio 45840; emailed to nwoea_center@sbcglobal.net; or faxed to 1-419-422-3417 by Monday, May 14, 2018.
Scholarships are offered on first come, first serve basis and only one team per local will receive a district scholarship. If funds are still available after May 14, the limit of two teams based on local membership will be waived. If you have any questions, contact the NWOEA Center at

Please note that NWOEA does not register scholarship recipients nor make hotel reservations. We will notify our scholarship recipients by email and give instructions for online academy registration, as well as hotel information, but recipients must take care of their own academy registration and hotel reservation. Please note that the payment for any team scholarship is dependent upon the attendance of all team members registered for the OEA Summer Academy.
